Roadmap to Online Success – One Hour a Day, Five Days a Week

All great journeys begin with a single step. If you stand on the sideline and mutter to yourself about the distance, then you will never start your journey, let alone complete it.

As youngsters, we did not worry about time or distance. We only knew that we wanted to go, and we could not understand our parents’ insistence that something was too far away. Now, as adults, we sometimes let our adult sensibilities stand in the way of what we want.

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever thought to yourself that you would like to start your own online business and cash in on the success that others are experiencing on the Internet? If so, what is stopping you?

Many people tell me that they do not have the time to start or run an online business.

Other people tell me that they do not have the resources to start and run an online business.

Some people tell me that they do not have the requisite knowledge.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

STOP! THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.

How much television do you watch each week?

How much money do you squander on fountain soft drinks or snacks?

Have you ever watched an educational television program or asked a friend about something you wanted to learn about?

My point is this…

The sociologists tell us that the average American watches 15 hours of television each week. If you could bring yourself to give up one program each day — you decide which ones — then you would have all of the time that you require to start and operate a successful online business.

If you buy your soft drinks in two-liter bottles, you will pay as much or less for your soft drink habit as you currently spend on one 32-ounce fountain drink. The money you save on frivolous spending could more than pay for your web hosting and a bit of advertising.

It you have taken 15 minutes out of your day in the last year to learn something new, then you have the skills necessary to learn what you need to learn, to be successful in an online business. It doesn’t take much time or effort to learn what you need to learn, if you can find yourself a good mentor to help you get up to speed about this medium.

I have a full-time job, and yet, I have managed to successfully start two online businesses.

IT IS ALL ABOUT COMMITMENT

Commit yourself to one hour a day, $20-$30 per month, and one hour’s worth of education in a workweek. If you can meet these bare minimum requirements, then you too can find the success you desire and crave.

The definition of success varies from person-to-person.

Maybe success for you would be to earn an extra $100 per month, so that you can take the family to an extra movie a month or give your wife a “mom’s night off”, where she does not have to cook at all one day a month.

Maybe success for you would be to find an extra $250 per month so that you can afford to take those classes at the local University Extension, so that you can get that big promotion and big raise at your job.

Maybe success for you would be the extra $500 per month so that you can afford to pay for a new used car for you and your family.

Perhaps, your idea of success is much bigger. Maybe you want to earn enough from an online business so that you can quit your job. Maybe you hope to earn enough that you could leave that 60-hour a week job and have more time to spend with your family. That is definitely a goal worth aiming to achieve. Your kids will only grow up once.

HERE IS THE ROADMAP TO GET YOU STARTED

1. You do not have to have your own product or service to make money online. You can sell other people’s products and services, and you can earn a commission on those transactions. There are two types of programs available that can help you to sell other people’s products and services. They are called Network Marketing/MLM programs and Affiliate Programs. The Network Marketing/MLM variety tends to offer a more comprehensive system for making money.

2. Find a program that offers a variety of products and services so that you can extend your own product and service offerings and reach out to a wider marketplace.

3. Find a program that offers more tutorials and resources to help you to become successful.

4. Find a program that offers mentoring through their systems. Network Marketing/MLM type companies rely on the mentor structure to grow their businesses. With Affiliate Programs, you are often on your own. Mentor’s are individuals who are in the same business as you are, who are willing to guide you and help you to become successful in the business.

5. Commit yourself to one hour per day, five days per week, for learning about the business, and growing your online business.

6. Don’t give up on your business. Don’t give up on yourself. This should actually be the first item on my list. The Network Marketing model will not fail, if you put your mind and energy to following through with your plan. If anyone was to tell you that Network Marketing/MLM is a dead-end road, don’t listen to him or her. People who fail in Network Marketing/MLM are those who fail to make a commitment and fail to follow-through.

7. Don’t rely on the free website that the Network Marketing/MLM company provides to you. You can use this website to sell the companies products and services, but you do need to display it inside of your OWN domain. These days, you can register your domain for a year for much less than $20 per year, and you can get a good web hosting account for less than $30 per month. Your mentor can teach you how to set up your domain to host your web interface from your chosen Network Marketing/MLM program.

8. Try a couple of the products you sell through your Network Marketing/MLM program. In most cases, this is not a requirement, but it is a strong recommendation. Once you have used the product or service, you will understand much more about it, which will help you to tell other people about it and why they would want to purchase it.

If you use the resources that the company makes available to you, and you commit yourself to your $20-$30 per month and one hour a day, five days a week, you will soon find yourself basking in the success that you have desired for so long.

Don’t be afraid to contact your upline mentors. If you need help, ask for it. Your upline mentors are more successful, when you are more successful. It is in their best interest to help you find the success you so richly deserve.

What if you could start your own part-time business today? What if you could get started: with no technical know-how, without jeopardizing your current job, and without any of the headaches of a traditional business. What if I could give you simple-to-follow, easy-to-understand instructions on how to start and grow your business? What if you could get started for free and without commitment? Building an Online Business with a Shoestring Budget

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

You have a great idea, service or product. Now it’s time to build a website and realize your dream. The eternal optimists say, “Build it and they will come.” This is easier said than done. There are many frustrations awaiting such an endeavor, but with some guidance, it can be a fun and rewarding experience. In the following column I talk about various ways to build an online business, what to do and what to avoid in Cyberspace.

Accepting Payments Online
Whether you’re selling services or products there are multiple ways to get started. The easiest and simplest way is an all-inclusive solution. Many companies offer turn-key solutions which include a basic website template and a hosted ecommerce store. Usually to cost varies from $20 to $30 a month with a modest set-up fee to process your application. Monies you make are either mailed to you by check or transferred to your bank account. One popular program offering is Yahoo Stores.

Simple = The Home Grown Factor
The pitfall of having an “all-inclusive-online-store template” is that the end result is an online store or website that does not look very professional. It could look down right ugly. This wouldn’t matter if you had an inexpensive niche product or service that everyone wanted to buy, but this is probably not the case. Niche products and services are slowly disappearing as more and more websites filling these voids come online. But hey! you never know. Nothing ventured is nothing gained.

Pay Pal Offerings
Let’s assume you already have a website or even a Blog site like Live Journal or My Space. Pay Pal offers a program where you sign-up for free to accept monies online. They charge a very small fee per transaction when money is sent or received. Millions of people use Pay Pal this way. Simply sign up with Pay Pal (you’ll need to have an active bank account) and in 2 to 3 days you are ready to go.

You need to have a minimal amount of web or HTML experience to place a Pay Pal button in your website. Don’t have HTML experience? Most city recreation centers offer classes at reduced rates or you may seek out the help of a technical or college student in your area. Most students are itching to get some practical real world experience under their belts. Start by calling the school’s director or person in-charge of student internships. But remember, you need a website in which to paste the code. Cost for a website may range from $500 to $2800 depending on your needs and your budget. You might also consider populating your information into a web template.

Web hosting plans costing $130 per year offer a free web template builder. You simply choose the template you like and populate it with your own content. Now you have a place to paste in your Pay Pal code. Most hosting companies will do this for you free!

We should also mention that Pay Pal offers an up line of merchant tools that include a shopping cart for a more professional store. But this will require a good deal of web development experience for you to master.

Raising the Bar
So you want a store with a shopping cart and product thumbnails like L.L.Bean?

If you’re ready to invest a little money into your business, then it’s time to begin requesting RFPs (Requests for Proposals) from professional web design companies in your area.

The difference between a very basic ecommerce store and a professional store is the user experience. The look and feel of a professional store has a well designed or even custom designed interface with a variety of options for shopping such as coupon or specials section, send to a friend function, displays similar or optional shopping choices, multiple thumbnails or a slideshow of the product, multiple shipping choices for next day, overnight and so on.

You will also need to acquire a merchant gateway account and an ecommerce hosting company. Most professional web design companies can walk you through this process, even if you haven’t a clue of what to do. Cost for a professionally designed custom ecommerce website ranges from $3800 to $7500.

No matter which road you take, you have to do a bit of marketing. You can’t depend on web surfer’s to come stumbling across your website to do business. You have to market yourself. Tell your friends, get a write up in your church bulletin, and use every option you can think of to economically get the word out about your website.

Naming Your Website
Pick a website name (domain name) that follows 3 simple rules:

1) Easy to spell
2) Easy to say
3) Easy to remember

If you are chatting among friends and you casually drop the name of your website, you want people to easily remember what you said.
Good domain name: www.bigfatpumpkins.com
Bad domain name: www.organicallygrownpumpkins.biz

Marketing Online
You can go to chat rooms and talk up your website. You post a few items or services on EBay and include a link to your main website. You may also submit your website information to hundreds of free directories over the Internet. You might also consider setting up an affiliate program whereby you offer commissions to people who resell your products or services. There are people who make a living participating in multiple affiliate programs.

Take that First Step
Set up your website and grow your online presence. The longer your online store is live on the Internet, the greater the chances are of being found. Most importantly don’t quit your day job just yet. Building an online business at any level takes time and patience. Six months may go by without one single sell. Don’t get frustrated. Give the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN time to find your website and list your website. Talk to other people who have similar products or services online. You’ll be quite surprised how helpful and friendly these people can be in offering you some solid advice in growing your business. After all, they have been there and done that.

Build it and they will come. Wait and they won’t.

Online Marketing Tools That Will Help You Succeed In Network Marketing

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

In the age of the internet, it is pretty rare that you can’t start up your computer and search a subject and not find what you are searching for. Where network marketing has traditionally been a face-to-face business, it is starting to see a shift to the internet for help. There are hundreds of online marketing tools available to help with this shift and here are just a few that can help the serious network marketer make a smooth transition from face-to-face to online marketing.

Social Media is at All Time Highs

There is no better place these days to connect with people than through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. With over half a billion users on Facebook, this allows network marketers to search out more like minded people with similar interests, share their products or services and just build a relationship with someone who they otherwise would never have been able to meet. Through social media is has become the norm to make friends with people you have never met face-to-face and probably never will. The secret to using social media as an online marketing tool is to really build that relationship, search out groups that have similar interests and ask a lot of questions without leading with your business. No one wants a business pitch on a social site. You never want to lead in with business. Get to know someone first to see if they are qualified or interested in what you are doing.

Get Those Thoughts on Paper

Article Marketing is a very under-utilized online marketing tool that can help in many ways. Basically the concept of article marketing is to write content that offers value to the reader so they come back for more. If you are in network marketing, you want to write about things that will offer value to other network marketers or those interested in pursuing network marketing. The rule of thumb with Article writing is that you need to make sure your articles are keyword rich so they rank on search engines thus they are actually seen. You also want to make sure to submit your articles to well known directories and also to as many directories as you can. An easy time saving way to do this is to purchase an article submitter that will automatically submit the content.

People Like Visual

With the internet, it is so easy to be fooled or to be misled. Video marketing is a great online marketing tool that more and more people are using to generate leads. Video marketing has become a must have in the network marketing world. Like article marketing, your videos need to be that of value to the audience you are looking to ensnare. With videos you always want to make sure to say who you are, a short summary of why you are cutting a video, have some valuable, relevant points and then a call to action of what you want the person who is watching to do. Also post to as many sites that will accept videos for the most exposure. Videos tend to work well to generate a following which is especially important when you are trying to build a list of people to talk with like in network marketing.

Again, the online marketing tools that are available out there are endless, but knowing the proper ways to use them will take you much further than not.

Online Business Articles – How To Read for Profit

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Considering the vast range of how-to subjects covered, ezine-articles could be one of the best ways to improve an online business. But really taking profitable advantage of these articles very often reaches one’s over-whelm thresholds because even a subscription to a few ezines brings in more articles than there is time to attend to.

Lack of time leads to unproductive habits… articles that need to be carefully read tend to get lightly scanned. Ideas that flow from such reading get mentally indexed to be used later, which of course does not happen. More often than not the only thing that happens to an ezine article is that it is saved for future reference – never to be seen again! Before we know it, the very purpose of subscribing – to learn how to improve our business – is defeated.

Here are some simple steps to extract real benefits from the ezine articles that reach your inbox. Use them often and you will convert plain-ol’ article-reading into online profits!

1. Take control – limit your ezine subscriptions.

2. Try reading as opposed to scanning!

3. Stop making ‘mental notes’

4. Stop saving articles, hints, tips for ‘later’

5. Take this major step to distil profits from ezine articles.

Copy and save the article in a ‘notepad’ file. Now resize this notepad file to occupy half your monitor, say the left half; In the right half, open which ever aspect of your online business the article refers to…web-design, web- copy, web-traffic, ad-headline, ad-copy, whatever. Begin reading the article on your left and immediately correlate it’s info with your efforts on the right – instantly correcting, editing, changing…

A simple process no doubt but in all probability you will be surprised by the results and benefits this simple action will bring you.

If you were working on an ad-headline, right then and there your headline could morph into that ‘hypnotic’ spell you’ve never been able to cast till now. If you were working on ad-copy, yours could metamorphose into an enticing butterfly simply as a result of applying the hints you just read in that article on ad-copy writing.

Or maybe you’ll begin to understand how small changes to your site content could trigger the emotional switch to impel people to buy stuff from your site….as explained by that SEO guru in the article you are ‘reading’.

Of course, you could avoid saving to notepad by simply having both – the article and your work – open and alt+tabbing (windows) between the two. I prefer notepad for it helps me concentrate – the stark black-n-white format with no toolbars whatsoever helps to stay focused. For me this gets the job done quickly and I end up having enough time to tackle more articles.

Another thing you could do is print the article. This has the advantage of being able to be read from more ‘angles’ than is possible with a desktop or laptop and this is important for one never knows from which angle or when inspiration may peep out. A pencil or pen at hand is vital to capture fleeting wisps of inspiration which can be quickly jotted on the hard copy. Work on the inspired bits later but first grab ‘em.

Now all those potent articles which would normally be scanned and most probably canned…are Saved…Read…Applied. Better yet, you’ve not only finished reading the article, you have even assimilated the information. You most probably will not need to refer to that article again. You have become the info! Your online business reflects your new knowledge!

Another benefit of approaching the nuts and bolts of an online biz in this simple way is the tackling of a major obstacle to online success – Procrastination! Things get done when they need getting done!

Another benefit? Seeing immediate changes in your efforts awakens a host of dormant emotions…enthusiasm, optimism, confidence, passion; And who can stop an enthusiastic human? Even the Universe gears up to respond affirmatively to the ‘intelligent use of intelligence’

The spouse, too, notices something’s up!!! :-).

Cheers!

Online Mortgage Applications, What Happens After You Hit Submit?

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

In concept, getting a mortgage quote from 4 or 5 different mortgage companies is a wise decision to finding the lowest mortgage rate you qualify for. Mortgage companies and brokers alike can claim that they have hundreds of lenders and thousands of programs, and I am sure they do, but I have yet to see the one mortgage broker who has that magical lender that can get you a better mortgage then every other mortgage broker out there. The bottom line is, they all have access to the same lenders and same programs, it is just that some mortgage brokers know their programs better then others.

The problem today with submitting your information to an online mortgage lead company is that the demand for your information is at an all time high, and the supply is very low. In order for these companies to stay in business they need to be price competitive with other online mortgage lead companies. The way that they do this is by selling your information to numerous mortgage companies. Just recently I spoke to an individual who received over 40 phone calls from the one application he filled out online.

Sometimes it is not the online mortgage lead companies fault that your information gets oversold. There are other online mortgage lead companies that buy your information from the original lead company where you filled out the application and then they turn around and sell them to their clientele base. After all, your information is not cheap and some mortgage companies will pay in excess of $35 for it.

The good news is, you can avoid these headaches by doing some research on your end. Over the years mortgage brokers have realized that the internet is a powerful tool that can generate mortgage applications. It is now easier to locate your local mortgage companies and fill out an application directly with them. It is very unlikely that your local mortgage company is going to sell your information to their competitors, as they are in the business of closing loans.

This is where the research on your end comes in. Using your favorite search engine, type in your city, state or even zip code followed by the word mortgage. This will generate a number of pages full of local mortgage companies that would be more then happy to compete for your business. When visiting these websites, look for quality content and educational information. There are plenty of dull sites out there that only talk about themselves and the hundreds of lenders and thousand of loan programs with the lowest mortgage rates anywhere in the galaxy.

My name is Jeremy Redlinger and I have been in the mortgage industry since the age of 22. My philosophy is to cater to the needs of homeowners by education. Make Money Online and Stay Motivated When Working From Home

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Motivation is the key to most any successful business to make money online and the work from home market is no different. There are a handful of ways to keep yourself motivated that most anyone can tap in to. This article will take a look at those motivations, and how to implement them in your own work from home business venture. They are not the only ways to make money online and stay motivated, but they are certainly the most popular ones.

* Using Money as Motivation*

Make Money Online has motivated people for as long as it has been around. Being able to do the things that you want in life is one of the most liberating feelings in the world. Work from home ideas and strategies are all pretty much designed to give you earning power, so money is a great motivator for them. The key to motivation using money is to make it tangible. Pie in the sky numbers do nothing. You need to set a work from home financial goal and then strive for it every single day.

* Using Time for other Things as Motivation*

Time for family, fun and various other things is a great motivator. If you started a make money online and work from home venture, then you are probably already using this as motivation. Again, you need to specify those things that you want to accomplish and write them down in a prominent place in your office. Set up a vacation and put it up just over your computer screen to drive your daily work. A picture of the destination works well, as you can really picture the trip. A family photo is another great way to motivate, as you will be more driven to spend time with them and in essence make money online.

* Using Deadlines for Motivation*

Some people are driven by things and some people are motivated by task completion. If you are a person that loves to meet goals and set new ones, then deadlines are wonderful motivators. Set yourself a goal for every block of time each day, and give yourself deadlines to complete them. Make sure you research what meeting those deadlines will accomplish. This will give the deadlines tangible meaning. Make several deadlines for each workday. You will find yourself enjoying the push.

* Using Rewards for Motivation*

Rewards can be a lot of different things when its time to make money online. We mentioned vacations up above, but what about a new car that you have been wanting? What about a new home? Set rewards at various levels. A home is a great long term reward, while a new pair of shoes could be a great short term reward. Whatever it takes to get the job done and stay motivated is what you should do.

Regardless of what motivates you, stick with it once you find it. Most people are motivated repeatedly by the same types of things. That does not mean to not try work from home motivations that are different, however. Every person likes a change now and then. Whatever you need to do to keep that work from home business moving is worth the extra time.

How To Make Money Online Through A Mlm Funded Proposal

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Have you ever wondered how the top Network Marketers in your network marketing company are making six and seven figures a year while the average joe network marketer is struggling to make a dollar? Let me tell you what all those top network marketers have in common. They each have some sort of funded proposal incorporated into their business. Let me tell you my story on how I found that out.

When I first joined a MLM Company. I was told by my upline to make a list of my warm market, which were my friends and family. I was told to talk to the people in my warm market and try to convince them to join my business opportunity. I spent a tons of time only to get a bunch of no responses along with questions like, “ Is this a Pyramid Scheme?” and comments like “your uncle bob was in one of those pyramid scams and it didn’t work”. I didn’t take me long until exausted my warm market list.

Next, I bought and cold called leads. Many of the numbers I dialed were disconnected, which made it very frustrating. Most of the ones that I got a hold of were not interested or only opted in for a contest to win something. Others made every objection and excuse under the sun. I got comments like the ones that I got from my friends and family members. I was spending more money than I was making.

So I started doing some research on the internet to see how those heavy hitter marketers were making six and seven figures a year. Low and behold, I cam accrossed an attraction marketing course called Magnetic Sponsoring which taught me about Self Branding, Generating my own leads and making money from those leads though a funded proposal. I learned how to make money while prospecting even if someone said no to my primary opportunity. Now that’s how the six and seven figure earners do it.

A funded proposal works by selling an inexpensive, but extremely valuable product on the front end and then back ending the real product or service (primary business). This is an excellent way to make money from your prospect up front before they even look at your primary opportunity. That is a lot easier than laboring on the phone for hours and only making money off 2-5% of them. This can be done on autopilot through an Autoresponder like AWeber.

A funded proposal is meant to cover your advertising costs while building up that residual check in your primary business. It is not meant to be a revenue stream in itself, but it can be. You should use the money you generate from your funded proposal programs to pay for your advertising and monthly autoship for your primary company.

You can set up your own funded proposal. My word of caution is that if you create your own funded proposal, it had better be good and worth more money than you are charging for it.

Online Marketing Secrets: Why You Need A Blog For Your Network Marketing Business

Monday, May 31st, 2010

If you are looking to use the power of the internet to grow your network marketing business, a blog is an essential component to your success. What is a blog? A blog is an online journal in which you can post any information in the form of posts, pictures, and video. Some blogs even put up some polls or quizzes for their readers to make their blog more interactive of fun.

A blog is important for network marketers looking to leverage the internet for their business success. How can a blog help my business you ask? Well, it serves as a central hub in which all other of your internet activities can be connected. If you are a part of social networking sites it’s a great way to send the new people you connect with for more information about you and about what content you are sharing. This is a great way to brand YOU.

When you brand yourself, you are creating an image for your business. By creating this image, it allows people to recognize you as a real person who has something to offer.

In addition, a blog can position you as an expert or leader in the online network marketing world. Your blog should contain tips, strategies, and training for network marketers or whatever you decide your niche is going to be in order to position yourself as a leader. You can post articles and videos teaching people how to use social media, pay-per click, Google Adwords, or any other relevant information that your target audience would be interested to learn about. This is why it is vital to include valuable information.

If your readers find your blog content is of value, it shows you know what you are talking about and they will view you as the expert. This will increase traffic to your blog which can lead to a large number of free leads for you!

Your blog is a resource. Readers will learn valuable information that will help them with their business or whatever your niche may be. By providing valuable content, you become a resource

A blog is one of the most important marketing strategies that can pay huge dividends in providing free leads for your business. Think of it as your central point that all other marketing strategies point towards. But, your network marketing company gave you a replicated website so why do you need a blog? Well, these replicated websites, even though they may look nice, they pitch your business and products. People do not like to work with sales people. People buy from people they have a relationship with and trust. So, brand yourself through your own blog, without pitching anything about your business or products, and offer valuable content that network marketers would find essential for their success, and people will be coming after you rather than you having to chase them. Saturday, May 29th, 2010

It’s a dream that everyone wants to become reality, to be a millionaire online. You all here of the stories about young kids making millions of dollars online because they have found the niche, and they succeeded. Well, its time for you to wake up and learn the basics of becoming one yourself.

Being an online millionaire does not happen overnight, and rarely does it happen in a year, but if you follow some simple and easy techniques, you could be well on your way to becoming one today. In order to be successful online, you must be willing to work. This means putting aside your play time for work time. It takes dedication, tons of research, and pursuing a dream that will have you being the next millionaire online.

Step 1: The first step is the hardest one to achieve, because you don’t believe in the things you read. Its true, people make money online everyday, and young adults like myself are enjoying life rather than working through it. Being able to put all of the hype about internet scams behind, is your first step in creating success. If you don’t believe in online money making, then its not where you should be looking. It takes the courage to stand up and believe that whatever you decide to pursue online will work, and it will, if you believe.

Step 2: Once you have achieved step 1, it is time to decide what you want to do in order to become successful. Take the time to learn about yourself, what your qualities are, and what you enjoy most. If you like to type, being a freelance writer or a paid surveyor might be your niche. If you like advertising and promoting, Affiliate Marketing might be your niche. If you are a salesman, and can pursue people to buy, eBay and Craigslist selling might be your niche. Find out what you enjoy and you will become successful.

Step 3: Once you have a clear understanding what qualities you have, its time to start working. Read through articles, blogs, forums, videos, anything you can get your hands on that will help you. Take time to create friends by getting involved in online social groups, they will teach you lessons that have helped them along the way. The biggest mistake that is made is researching through a search engine. You may want to start out by doing this, but in order to become successful, you must branch out to other peoples advice. The more you learn, the more you will become an idol, and the more success you will achieve online.

Following these three simple steps will get you on the right path in becoming a stay at home internet guru. No, it doesn’t happen overnight, but the time you put in now will impact the time you put in later. The more time you take now in believing, finding yourself, and researching will make you the successful online millionaire that you set out to be.
